Cannot connect to Public Folders from certain accounts, but can via OWA.

HI,

From my email account in Outook, if I try to connect to my Public Folders, I get an "The set of folders cannot be opened.  The attempt to log on to Microsoft Exchange has failed."  error.

My co-worker, can access the public folders with no issues from Outlook.

I can access the public folders if I go in via OWA.

The only difference that I can see is that his mailbox is in DatabaseA, and mine is in DatabaseB.  They both point to the same Public Folders, of which there is one.

A-K users are in DatabaseA, L-Z are in DatabaseB.  L-Z users cannot access the PublicFolders.

This only started happening about a week ago.

You're fully Exchange 2013, or are you in a coexistence mode?

Hi,

As per the information and details provided by you, to solve this issue, please follow these steps: -

Cause: This issue occurs because the AutoDiscover service cannot discover the email address that is stamped on the public folder mailbox.

Solution:

Create AutoDiscover related DNS records for the email address that is stamped on the public folder mailbox.

Change the email address of the public folder mailbox to match an email domain that already has published AutoDiscover records.

I hope this information will be helpful for you.
Thanks and regards

"Create AutoDiscover related DNS records for the email address that is stamped on the public folder mailbox"

Where would I find out this "email address that is stamped on the public folder mailbox"?

This is also Exchange 2010, not 2013.  Still confused, and not finding much help.

You have posted in an Exchange 2013 forum.  The Exchange previous versions forums are here:  http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/exchangeserverlegacy
