Cannot apply Exchange 2007 (SP2) SCW template to Server 2008 SP2
I am attempting to apply the SCW template that came with my Exchange 2007 SP2 installation to my Server 2008 SP2 installation. I am receiving an error message.I run the command: scwcmd register /kbName:"Exchange2007" /kbFile:"C:\Exchange\scripts\Exchange2007_winsrv2008sp2.xml"And I recieve the error:Command completed with error. Please check log file(s) under the following directory:%windir%\security\msscw\LogsThe log file states "The specified OS version does not match with the version that is defined in the KBRegistration.xml file."The Exchange2007_winsrv2008sp2.xml file is a SCW template I modified (based off of the Exchange2007_winsrv2008.xml file that comes w/ Exchange) to change the Service Pack version from 1 to 2, as I saw to do so in many articles. However, I am still not having an success. I get the same issue running the original file (which is to be expected).Below are the contents of the file I'm trying to register. I also at one point got an error mentioning C:\Windows\security\msscw\kbs\KBRegistration.xml, so I modified the service pack from that file also to be SP2 rather than 1.Here is the file I'm trying to register: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?> <SCWKBRegistrationInfo OSMajorVersion="6" OSMinorVersion="0" ServicePackMajorVersion="2" ServicePackMinorVersion="0"> <_locDefinition> <_locDefault _loc="locNone"/> <_locTag _loc="locData">DisplayName</_locTag> <_locTag _loc="locData">Description</_locTag> <_locTag _loc="locNone" _locAttrData="Name">FirewallRule</_locTag> <_locTag _loc="locNone" _locAttrData="CultureName">SCWLocalization</_locTag> </_locDefinition> ...(the rest is removed for space constraints, but it is identical to the "stock" file that comes with Exchange). Any help is appreciated. I'm fairly confused since I've read that this IS the fix from a number of sources, yet it doesn't seem to work for me. The only difference I can think of is that I installed Exchange 2K7 SP2 from scratch (rather than RTM or SP1, which were the only options available at the time the other articles were written). Hi,Sorry for the delay response.I have tested on the lab and couldn't reproduce your issue. Now I suggest you re-apply the SP2 on the Exchange server, then check this issue.ThanksAllen
