Cannot activate Office Professional

Hi,

I have installed Office professional (32Bit - tried 64bit as well) on my computer (Windows 8.1 64bit) and when I open any office program it asks me to Activate. When I click on "Enter a product key" the program immediately goes to "Getting your new office ready for you" with the scrolling green line and this is where it stays until I end the task or shutdown the computer

If I enter the registered email address it asks for the password and then tells me it is unable to sign me into office

someone please help

Hi,

Please run Office Programs with the administrator permission, then check if the issue persists.

If the problem persists , then I still need to know more information to provide further assistance:

1. What is your Office version? Office 2013?

2. When I click on "Enter a product key" the program immediately goes to "Getting your new office ready for you" with the scrolling green line and this is where it stays until I end the task or shutdown the computer

-By the description above, does that mean it hangs and never goes on?

3. Would you please provide the exact message about "it asks for the password and then tells me it is unable to sign me into office"?

Actually it would be preferred if I can see some snapshots about the issue. If it's convenient for you, please send the images to our email address:

ibsofc@microsoft.com

Please add the url of this thread in the email for easy tracking.

Hi Melon,

Thanks for the reply.

have sent a return email with a snapshot of the message

In answer to your questions:

I am running as administrator and still have the same issue

Office 2013

Yes it is "Hanging". The green bar moves but never stops

Cheers

Hi,

Sorry for replying late, I've been busy.

Please disable the firewall and anti-virus program temporarily then try to sign in, does the issue persist?

It seems you are using a Microsoft Account to sign in Office, can you sign in with the account on web? If possible try another Microsoft Account to check whether it's account specific or a connection issue.

If you have any proxy settings, please add these address as exceptions:

.officeimg.vo.msecnd.net
.office.microsoft.com
.odc.officeapps.live.com

Then check the result again.
