Cannot accept tasks from outlook 2013 or even from web

I am using Outlook 2013 64 bit Pro Plus and I tried to assign tasks to other emails (hotmail, outlook, office365) that assigned also to Outlook 2013 but I cannot find accept or decline button for the task, Also the task does not appear correctly.

Why I cannot find accept or decline task button ?

Hi,

Which account type are you using with the account you used to assign task?

What did the task message like when you open it? Did it show 'Task' in the title of the message window?

Can you see the task in the task list if you switch to Task view?

Please feel free to post back and provide more information.

I used Exchange Server account when I assign a task and the task assigned to accounts of type Office 365, POP3 and exchange server and it did not work with any of them.

I want to insert a screen shoot, but it told me that I could not insert image till you be able to verify my account ! . the message have title with ( Task Request: task name )

I can not find the task in the task list because I could not accept or decline it.

Hi,

Based on my deep research and test, I found that task request is not supported by hotmail. When I assigned a task to my live.com account, I will receive a message like the screen shot below:

Did you get some email message like this?

In addition, when you assign a task to a user outside his company Exchange server, you need to configure TNEF settings on Exchange Server, see:

http://slipstick.com/exchange/cmdlets/blocking-tnef-exchange-server/

BTW, if you want to show me the screen shot, you can upload your screen shot to SkyDrive and share the link to me.

Thank you Steve, your screen shoot is exactly what I get.

I am using Office 365 for education email ( .edu ) and I am try to assign a task to another organization MSP exchange server ( @studentpartner.com ) mail. Is this what you mean by needing to configure TNEF settings on Exchange Server to get it working correctly ?

Also, Should I have this same error if I tried to assign task from .edu email to another .edu email in the same organization ?

Thank you for the update.

We cant assign tasks from an Exchange account to a Hotmail account.

But, if we want to assign tasks from an Exchange server account to another one which use a different Exchange server, we need to run the PowerShell described in the article I mentioned before to enable the TNEF.

If you want to assign tasks from O365 .edu to another O365 .edu, I believe this can be done. But for your situation, you want to assign tasks from an Office 365 .edu account to an external Exchange account, Im not sure if this is possible. The remote domains setting is controlled by Exchange Hub, Hub can do this within the organization but not sure if its out of the organization.

Since we are not the best resource for Office 365, you can post your question in Office 365 forum to get further assistance:

The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us. Thank you for your understanding.

I am attempting to assign a task using a .edu account to another .edu account.  however, when i send the email it does not have the accept or reject buttons.  what can I do to get this fixed?

When the email is received it looks just like the image above.
