Cannot View GAL when using Outlook Anywhere
When connecting Outlook 2007 via Outlook Anywhere(RPC over HTTPS) I cannot view the Global Address List. I get a dialog box that says I must be nline or connected to the Exchange Server. InternallyI have no issues viewing the GAL and otherwise Outlook Anywhere seems to be working fine. Any ideas on what is causing this?

Hi, 1. Please check whether outlook 2007 is in Cached Exchange Mode. 2. Please refer to the below article to check whether you have meet the system requirement. Ok I ran Outlook with the /rpcdiag switch and I am connected to exchange. However when I try to download the address book I recieve the following error" Taskxxxxxxxxxxxx@xxxxxxx.com reported error (0x8004010F) : 'The operation failed. An object cannot be found.' Outlook clients are in cached mode .Again, everthing else ssems to be working when using Outlook Anywhere on 2007 with Exchange 2007. I do not have any Outlook 2003 clients. Exchange 2003 is still in the organization but is not hosting any mailboxes. I am guessing it has to do with something with my OAB virtual directory or my external address for the Offline Address Book but, thise seem to be setup correctly. Any further help is much appreciated.

Hi, 0x8004010f=MAPI_E_NOT_FOUND. Outlook will report back 0x8004010f when it is unable to locate a valid location or folder to download the offline address list from. Legacy Outlook Clients look to the Public folder defined by their mailbox store to locate this folder. (Note: Run Get-PublicFolderStatistics commandlet to see whether Offline address list folders has been replicated,if not please follow the article to create connector: How to Create Routing Group Connectors from Exchange 2007 to Exchange Server 2003http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997292.aspx) If it is not the case,then please check DNS records and ensure that there is a Host (A) record for "Autodiscover" with the IP address of the Client Access Server. Besides, While Outlook is running, click the CTRL key and then right-click the Outlook icon in the system tray and then select Test Email Autoconfiguration. When the tool opens, please tick "use AutoDiscover" and left the other two unchecked. Confirm that your email address is in the address field, then click thetest button. Once it runs, please check the "Results",you can see the OAB url,please check whether it is correct. Also,you can try to create a new OAB and update it to see whther it would work.
