Cannot Restore Folders under Deleted Items
Hello,I have a user who (for whatever reason) stored mail items in Folders under in Deleted Items. We have a 30 retention period on the Deleted Items folder. I tried to perform a RSG restore on the server to recover the mail items in these folders. The restore completes, but when I try to merge the mailbox, I can an error that the mailbox merge could not complete. The folder structure in deleted items restores, but none of the actual items. Items directly under Deleted Items do restore. I've received the same symtoms on 3 different restores of the mailbox going back into April. We are running Exchange 2007 SP1 on a CCR cluster. I am using the Tools functions in Exchange 2007 for recovery and mailbox merge from the RSG.Is there possibly corrupt information in the mailbox or can this be related to storing subfolders in deleted items? I bumped up the error count to 1000 on the mailbox merge. Here is the error I get - Error merging mailbox (/O=SIS/OU=EXCHANGE ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=ED.V) into user (mike.c). Error message is: Error was found for C Mike (Mike.C@na.vallourec.com) because: Error occurred in the step: Moving messages. Failed to copy messages to the destination mailbox store with error: MAPI or an unspecified service provider. ID no: 00000000-0000-00000000, error code: -1056749164. Thank you for anyinput.Mike

Hi Mike, I create a Folder under Deleted Items folder and move some messages to the folder. After backup the database, I removed the messages from the Folder and I am able to restore the message from Backup file and merge them to original database. At this time, please let me know whether the Exchange 2007 SP1 Rollup 8 has been installed on the CCR.
