Cannot Prepare Active Directory and Domains for Exchange 2007 Installation
I have AD and Exchange Server 2003 SP2 installed in Windows Server 2003 SP2. I want to make transition from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 so that i can separate AD and Exchange in different server. But when i want to prepare my AD using the setup.com
from the Exchange 2007 CD in encounter this error
"Performing Microsoft Exchange Server Prerequisite Check
Organization Checks ......................... FAILED
A previous version of Exchange Server is already installed on this computer
. Run Exchange 2007 Setup from a different computer or remove the previous versi
on of Exchange Server.
The Exchange Server setup operation did not complete. Visit http://support.micro
soft.com and enter the Error ID to find more information.
Exchange Server setup encountered an error."
Any Idea??

Hello,
You cannot do an inplace upgrade of Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007. Did you already run the setup.com command from a "clean" server?

And your using an admin account that's member of enterprise admin and schema admin?
If it won't work, setup a new machine to be DC, prepare the schema for exchange 2007 on this one instead.

Hai Peter,
I did not do an in place upgrade. I want to implement Exchange 2007 in a new machine so that i can separate my AD and Exchange. Currently my AD and Exchange 2003 is install in the same machine. And I never run the setup.com command in other server.
Hai Jonas,
I used the enterprise admin account to run this command.
