Cannot Import CSV file to Outlook 2010 contacts

I am trying to import my contacts from icloud.  I saved them as a vCard, converted to CSV file. I get an error when trying to import.

"MAPI Error 0X80040107 was reported. Please try to import/export again later."

I have tried numerous times to no avail. Also tried the notepad ANSI version etc... and other posts i have read.

Please Help!

Impossible to answer without seeing the CSV file. Most likely cause is a csv file that is not properly structured.

#1 - Do you have a <header row>? (first row with the field (column names) for the subsequent rows)
#2 - Does this file open in Excel without any UI interaction? (If properly structured - Excel will open the csv file directly without any questions)
#3 - When open in Excel - does all the data appear correctly? If yes, would suggest re-saving the file from Excel as a CSV file
#4 - If this is a valid CSV file - did you manually map app the fields by clicking on the <Map Custom Fields> button when it presents itself in the import process?

See link below for the steps that I took.

Simply a matter of dragging the field names from your CSV file (right-side) to the corresponding Outlook fields on the left side

I don't use iCloud but are you trying to import the contacts to a contact folder residing in an iCloud folder group or to the default Outlook contact folder. Also have no idea what step#9 (Export) is in that entire process not to mention that if you are using iCloud and its configured in OL'2010 on your system - your contacts would already exist in Outlook. Something is not making sense.

The icloud folder is my iphone contacts.

I have OL contact folders for business and personal. For my business contacts I exported from gmail to outlook a CSV file just fine. But my personal contacts on my phone are stored in icloud.

Simply a matter of dragging the field names from your CSV file (right-side) to the corresponding Outlook fields on the left side   I beleive you transposed your "left and right" instructions? As far as dragging over the field names as depicted in your photo; the names on the left do not match the names on right?

Correct - right/left transposition my type mistake. As for field names - there is no requirement for the field names in the data field to match those of the Outlook fields. Just drag the right field from the left to where you want to import it on the right.

As for importing directly into an iCloud contact folder - that's something someone else will have to confirm but likely would cause the error being encountered. When iCloud is configured in Outlook - it moves the contacts from the Outlook default folder to its own iCloud folder but beyond this - going to leave anything iCloud related to someone else - as mentioned, don't use it.
