Cannot Find SCP from VPN
Hi Everyone, I have an issue that has just popped up. It is happening on any workstation not on the same VLAN as the SBS 2008 box. When I go to https://CAS Server IP Address/autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml it prompts for a username and password. When I type them in it works When I go to https://FQDN /autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml I get a HTTP 404 error which I find strange because when I ping the FQDN it does resolve correctly. When I perform test-outlookwekservice |fl I get the following error: Id : 1013 Type : Error Message : When contacting https://FQDN/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml received the error The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. Id : 1006 Type : Error Message : The Autodiscover service could not be contacted. If I am on a system on the same VLAN outlook finds the SCP and everything works perfectly. If I’m connecting in from a VPN it doesn’t find the SCP and as a result it looks for the Autodiscover record. The Autodiscover record for our domain points to another mail server so I need the VPN client to find it via SCP. Workstations recently had troubles downloading the OAB so I deleted and recreated the OAB virtual directory and must have changed something but cannot find what. From the VPN client if I goto https://CAS Server IP Address/autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml and type in my credentials I get 600 Invalid request which I think is ok, but I can’t get to https://FQDN /autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml Any help would be great. Seems too obvious but does your FQDN resolve to the correct IP?

Thanks for the information. It is failing on the SCP record. Error (0x80072F78). It is looking at the correct record. (SBS 2008 Server) but not getting there. I will give you suggestion a try and report back. I can't use the autodiscover.yourdomain.com because the record isn't owned by me so I have to get it working with the SCP record.Regards, Blair Muller Check Out My Blog: http://blair-muller.blogspot.com/
