Can you Share a Room Resource Calanader?
I am a Exchange beginer to be gentle. I need to share some room resource calendars andprefer not to use Public Folders and would rather use Sharepoint 3.0. Is there a how-to that covers how to make it work in Sharepoint 3.0? Better yet, can you send a "Share my Calendar" invite to everyone from the Room Resource mailbox? Thanks Shawn

Clarify: You want to share room mailboxs calendar to end-users on Exchange Server 2007, right? You can give administrator Full Access permission on Room Mailbox, and then modify its share permission from outlook for end-users 1. Go to EMC->Recipient Configuration->Mailbox->found your Room Mailbox [E.g 23.004], right-click and choose Manage Full Access Permission->add administrator in there 2. Log on a client PC as administrator, create 23.004s mail profile, use administrators credential to log into 23.004s mailbox from outlook 3. Go to calendar, right-click calendar and choose Properties->Permission tab->add which group of end users you want to put, then set proper right 4. Share Invitation Message function only available on Outlook 2007, yes, you can send the invitation to anyone you want now As for how to share Room Mailbox from Sharepoint 3.0, please use SharePoint Forum which would be the most relevant forum for this question http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/default.aspx?ForumGroupID=330&SiteID=17

Would you be able to log into the mailbox of the resource room? By default, Exchange creates them as disabled users, so I would imagine you would have to enable that user that is associated with the mailbox before you can open the mailbox in Outlook....

Make Resource available from exchange 2010/2007 to 2003 EMC 1. Open EMC(exchange management console) 2. Locate your resources mailbox in recipient configuration. 3. Right click and select manage full access permission… 4. Add your exchange account to have full access. Outlook 1. Now open outlook (Add the mailbox ) 2. Navigate to “tools” -> “email accounts?” 3. Show or change existing -> “change/edit) 4. “more preferences” 5. “advanced” -> “add” -> the name of the resource 6. “apply” -> “ok” -> next -> “finish” 7. Close outlook-> then open it again. (or wait a while?`) 8. Navigate to calendar 9. Under my calendars you will find your resource. Right click it select “properties” 10. Go to the “persmissios?” tab. 11. Make sure “standard” and “anonymous” is changed to “reader” ( u might want to add a superuser who get a higher permission to delete entrys.) 12. Now you can open the resources calendar. You can also open the resources mailbox if you want to manually accept the meeting invitations. Or you can script it, to make It automatic :D Script autoAccept 1. Open powershell (exchange management Shell)(as administrator, on a server with the EMC installed properly) 2. Writ the command: Set-CalendarProcessing -identity " your resources logon name " -AutomateProcessing AutoAccept 3. Test it. Credits to SKB from Stokke Kommune. I've set up the resource and set it to auto accept AND allow conflicts BUT users are unable to see anything except free/busy info I want to everyone to see details of the meetings as it is used as a central calendar for the department (all users invite the resource) despite taking the steps above I am still unable to set permissions for the resource
