Can we rename Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)
Hello guys, On our organization we are planning to migrate from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010. We have successfully installed the Exchange 2010 Hub/CAS. But we check the System Manager for Exchange 2003 on the Administrative Groups "Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)" was seems to be the default name for the Exchange 2010. On our Organization we are following certain naming convention unfortunately as i can see we cannot change the name to follow on our naming convention as i check on this link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998186.aspx Is there any other explanation why we cannot change this to follow on our organization naming convention. Is there any other Technet link that you guys can provide why this cannot be change? Thanks in advance. Cheers guys...

You should not rename that in Exchange server 2010 as it will break your compete messaging environment. Although not an TechNet article but here is good explanation http://smtp25.blogspot.in/2007/08/fydibohf23spdlt-exchange12rocks.html same reason for exchange 2010 as well. Yep, you don't need to change this. After you migrate to Exchange 2007 or higher you don't need to see the Administrative group when administering Exchange. SteveSteve Goodman Check out my Blog for more Exchange info or find me on Twitter

Agree with the others here. Changing the name of the admin group is not supported and when you are using 2010 you will not see it in the console. The same goes for the routing group that 2010 creates for legacy coexistence. Cheers, Steve
