Can not send mails to Public Folder
Hello All, Please be noted of my environment first. 1. Exchange Servers : 2003 & 2007 2. Clients : Outlook 2003, 2007 & external clients (gmail, rediff, hotmail etc) 3. Public Folders are on Exchange 2003 Server 4. Base OS id Server 2003 R2 for all 5. All exchange Servers are patched to latest SP and RU. We are facing problem for a single Public Folder where except the owner of the PF no one else is able to send mails to it. Previous client settings of the PF: 1. Annonymous --> Folder visible and NONE 2. Default --> Folder visible and NONE Then the changes I made was: 1. Annonymous --> Folder visible & Read items and Reviewer 2. Default --> Folder Visible & Read items and Reviewer. I had made these changes 5 hrs before and still not able to find that whether the settings had not replicated or settings are not good enough. Still while sending mail, I am getting this below mentioned NDR. Please let me know if these settings are worth to get mails deliver from internal and external accounts. If not, then I may like to ask your assistance to get me the propper settings to allow all users to push the mails to this PF. To receive email from internal users, then authenticated users need to have at least Contributor permissions. For external users to send email to Public Folders anonymous also needs to have at least contributor permissions. Anonymous having contributor permissions will NOT allow an internal user to send to a public folder because they are an authenticated user. Hello Sembee, Thanks for the revert. Well, I did some modifications later on, which are as beneath: Default--> Contributor and Folder visible & Create Items Annonymous--> Custom and Create Items, Read Items & Folder visible As the user asked that, users may only send mails to the PF, but can not see the folders mails. Waiting for the replication to take place and then will update the status again. (But as per your above reply, I can not find any "authenticated user" security group whom I can deligate permission. There are Default, Annonymous, Owner, Publishing Authour, & Author) Please let me know if I do have to add the group to it? Thanks !

Nobody without credentials needs to see the folder or to read the items in the folder. Stick with the standard role. The others (Owners, Publishing Editor, etc.) are roles that define permissions, they aren't users. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
