Can not install other Office (RTM) product after installing Office Professional Plus 2013 RTM

I installed Office Professional Plus 2013 RTM (from MSDN). After that, I tried to install SharePoint Designer 2013 RTM, or Visio Professional 2013 RTM... but not luck, this message occurred. Note that I didn't install any Preview version of Office products on my machine. I think this is a problem Microsoft should fix as soon as possible.

I did some search but no solution for this. Can anyone give some advice for this problem?

Good news, I have found the solution for this problem:

1. Open regedit.exe (Run -> regedit -> Enter)

2. Find and delete the following key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\00005102110000000100000000F01FEC

Note: if you can't find the above key, just find the key with prefix: 00005102, and suffix: F01FEC, and delete it. (Before deleting it, backup this key by exporting it).

Enjoy Office 2013 RTM now.

Worked for me!

Had the Office Professional Plus 2013 installed. Tried to install Visio 2013 but got the uninstall message.

I did not have the exact same reg-key. However used the prefex and found a similar key with the mentioned suffix.

Am installing visio as we speak.

Thx for the tip

Hi Jacky,

Thank you to share this helpful solution to us! This will help the others who meet the same issue.

Jacky, thanks.

Makes you wonder why it gets stuck on a RegKey.

You happen to know the regkey that is used to identify an Office 2013 installation as "Pro Plus" as opposed to a " Standard" version ?.

Works for me.

You are a true life saver.

Office 2013 seems get itself screwed up by the "preview" version of multiple office versions.

From what I've observed, you don't have to know whether your office 2013 is a "Pro Plus" or "Standard" or "Home Preview" because Visio 2013 is another software. Any version of office 2013 should be capable of installing any version of Visio 2013.

Evidence is that, I have "Office 2013 Home Preview" and "Visio 2013", they work together on win8 with no problem.

Jacky- Is this a best practice? I had Office Professional Plus 2013 RTM on my machine. I followed your steps and was able to install SharePoint designer. But after that, my Office 2013 stopped working. Also, my control panel is giving issues. Seems like I ended up corrupting my OS :-(

Can you try to import the reg-key to the registry?

I had the same problem (off2013pro rtm, installing visio 2013 rtm) and solved it by deleting the Dutch Proofing Tools key [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\00005102F10031400100000000F01FEC], that seems to be a preview version.

I don't find any of the key with the prefix 00005102 while mine are mostly 00005109.

Any advice?

Try to back-up this reg key first, and delete it then. If nothing's different, import back the reg key, and find other key with suffix i mentioned.

I had a similar problem trying to install Visio 2013 after I had installed the Office 2013 Preview.

Setup Errors included keys that mentioned Office 15. There were two keys located in the registry branch mentioned by Tran, both were deleted and Visio is being installed right now. Thanks!!

Not sure if the answer is here but I uninstalled the proofing tools (preview version) and then downloaded and installed a new version of proofing tools, now it works just fine to install Visio.
