Can not configure size limits for Public Folder
When I want to specify a storage Quota of 5GB on a public folder through Public folder management console, then it gives me error message "Some controls are not valid - PostStorageQuota(5GB) is out of range: [0KB,2097151KB]. " Why I can't configure this explicitly on a folder? Is there any by default restrictions?

HI, per my knowledge there is maximum numbers we can use for Public folder limits and Maximum item size limit to maximum 2,097,151 Kb. I have mentioned below maximum sizes of Public folder's limits. -Issue warning at (KB) - 2,147,483,647KB (2.1 terabytes)-Prohibit post at (KB)- 2,147,483,647KB (2.1 terabytes).-Maximum item size (KB) - 2,097,151 KB. So you cannot set 5 GB for Maximum item size parameter. For more information refer below TechNet articleResourcePublic Folder Database Properties > Limits Tab Regards Chinthaka

I hope you are setting upProhibit post at (KB) option. I can set it to5242880KB = 5GB. Is it happening with only one public folder or all folders in PF?Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Did you try using PFDavAdmin? I guess it wouldn't give you error...Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Thanks Amit, I am able to configure through PFDavAdmin. But when I go to Public Folder Management Console and click on properties of that public folder it gives me this message:"The properties on this object have invalid data.If you click OK, default values will be used instead and will be saved if you do not change them before hitting Apply or OK on the property page. If you click cancel, the object will be displayed read-only and corrupted values will be retained. The following values have invalid data:PostStorageQuotaValue, StorageQuotaValue." After clicking Ok and shows me the value but every time when I go to properties it shows this messagae. The values which I m trying to configure are:Issue warning at (KB) : 5242800Prohibit post at (KB): 524880Maximum item size (KB): 51200

HI,I see some parameter problem with Issue warning quota and Prohibit post quota. Prohibit post quota must be greater than or equal to Issue warning quota. In your case issue warning quota is 5242800Kn and Prohibit post is 524880.Please change those limits and try again.beside please add below limits and try again wethear its working ?Issue warning at (KB) : 5242800Prohibit post at (KB): 5242800Maximum item size (KB): 51200Regards Chinthaka

I tried as you suggested, but still it shows very clear message in tooltip that I can't configure this size. I do not know why? Have a look at below screenshot which shows error in tooltip.http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/8608/pfquotaproblems2.jpg????

What's the limit set on PF Database itself? If it is set to 2GB value then increase it to 5-6GB and then check atindividualfolder level... This appears to be an artificial limitation imposed by the Powershell cmdlets, in conflict with the documentation and the actual capabilities of store PFDavAdmin or MFCMAPI is the only workaround, per my knowledge Issue warning at (KB) - PR_PF_STORAGE_QUOTA (0x677B0003) Prohibit post at (KB) - PR_PF_OVER_HARD_QUOTA_LIMIT (0x67210003) Maximum item size (KB) - PR_PF_MSG_SIZE_LIMIT (0x67220003) After set the values, Public folder is locked and we cant edit property of the public folder by using PowerShell or Public Folder Management Console. Thats why we got the error The properties on this object have invalid data This issue is targeted to be fixed in Exchange 2007 SP2.
