Can I assign a 3-party email as a user's email??
Hi, I experienced a weird issue. I recently assigned a personal email to an account when I created an new user via AD: user's full name: Alice user logon name : alice@domain.local her personal email is alice@msn.com I put her personal email in the "Gerneral" tab and changed "email addresses" settings to SMTP alice@msn.com and set this as primary BUT when i use my company email (the same company with Alice) say james@domain.com to send an email to Alice's personal email alice@msn.com, the email goes to her company email alice@domain.com !! NOTE: I use outlook to sent this email. the company email is setup by Exchange 2003 I also tried this: Alice use her personal email to sent a message to my company one, I REPLY this email (personal) and it still went to her company email rather than her personal email !!! which means I can not use my company email account to send her personal account! Why? Have you experience such situation? I am not sure it is exchange issue or AD issue...... Thanks for your time!

Hello, if you want to forward the mail to an external account instead of a local mailbox you could either set a forwarding address or (better) recreate the user as a mail-enabled user. Probably you've created a mailbox for the user on your Exchange. Greetings, Toni

actually Alice is company employee and she is in AD. We would like to send her email by searching her name in outlook so we put her personal email in her AD/Exchange profile. Then we found all emails originally sending to her personal email go to her company (exchange) email. ===================== I think we have created an account for her but we use personal email to replace the exchange email.

Hi James, This is by design, all the email addresses you added will route the email to company mailbox. Thanks.Best Regards!
