Can Exchange 2007 support opt-in mailing lists?
My organization is trying to migrate away from Communigate, and one of the features we have not been able to duplicate is their mailing list feature. I need a way for users to send an email to one of our mailing list email addresses and (after replying to a confirmation email)automatically be added to the mailing list. The closest functionality I can find in Exchange 2007 are Dynamic Distribution Lists based on AD queries.Does Exchange have the functionality I'm looking for?TIA,Matthew

Hi Matthew,You need to go with Dynamic Distribution Group in Exchange 2007 which will automatically pick members to group based on various filters of AD & Exchange attributes. But what you are expecting (subscribe/unsubscribe by sending mail similar to public groups such as google, yahoo etc...) is not possible natively in Exchange but you need to look for some third-party utility. Check below utilities if anyone helps you...http://www.ikakura.com/http://www.mapilab.com/outlook/toolbox/subscription_manager.htmlReference:How to Create a New Dynamic Distribution Grouphttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996561.aspxAmit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
