Can't remove move request - Failed to communicate with the mailbox database
I have tried to move a mailbox from one Exchange 2010 server to another Exchange 2010 server which failed (due to a mail item being larger than our maximum limit). I tried to remove the Move Request but it failed with the message as below. Both the source and target databases are mounted and still in use. Can I force remove the Move Request? -------------------------------------------------------- Microsoft Exchange Error -------------------------------------------------------- Action 'Remove Move Request' could not be performed on object 'Mailbox User'. Mailbox User Failed Error: Failed to communicate with the mailbox database. MapiExceptionCallFailed: Unable to save changes. Hi Cats Solutions, Please run the cmdlet Get-MoveRequest | fl to check the details about the failed Remove Request, then run the cmdlet Remove-MoveRequest -MoveRequestQueue "TargetDatabase value" -MailboxGuid "ExchangeGuid value" http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd335149.aspx Please also delete other completed Move Requests. If it still fails, please run the cmdlet Get-MailboxStatistics -Database "TargetDatabase value" to see whether it works or not. And please check whether there are related error events in the Event Viewer. Do you have anti-virus software installed(e.g. GFI) on the Exchange server? If yes, please disable it or uninstall it to test.
