Since you are trying to remove folders, why don't you take the backup of mailbox and remove the folder with MFCMapi which gives you the raw level access of your mailbox.Amit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Issue description: User cant remove the folders under the Inbox folder Error: Can't move folder. A top-level folder can't be moved to one of its subfolders. Or, you may not have appropriate permissions for the folder. To check your permissions for the folder, right-click the folder, and then click properties on the shortcut menu Check info: 1. Which version of exchange do you use? 2. Which account did you use to perform the removal action, problematic users own account? 3. You said that the folders cant be deleted even in the MFCmapi, whats the error info when you tried to remove the folder in the MFCmapi? 4. Where did you use MFCmapi, on the problematic users PC which contains users mail profile? If yes, have you unchecked Cached Exchange Mode in problematic users mail profile before using MFCmapi? If you havent, please uncheck the mode, and try to use the MFCmapi again Troubleshooting: 1. Please logon to a clean PC with problematic users account>Create mail profile for user>unchecked Cached Exchange Mode>Use MFCmapi again 2. Please move problematic users mailbox to another database, the mailbox can be fixed during the process if there are any logical errors. Then try to remove the folders again

Error info: Error was found for user (user@domain.com) because: Error occurred in the step: Moving messages. An internal processing error has occurred. Try restarting the Exchange System Manager or the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service, or both., error code: -1056696540 I assume that the exchange version is 2003, since Exchange System Manager appears in the error info. Please correct me if I have misunderstood it The error info indicates that corrupted items exist in the problematic mailbox, and the possible resolution is: 1. During Move-Mailbox task, increase the value of Maximum number of corrupted items to skip option in order to complete the process 2. Use ExMerge to export the data of the problematic mailbox to PST file, and remove & recreate the problematic mailbox, then import the data back Troubleshooting: 1. Please create a test mailbox on the problematic database and try to move it as you did before, it can verify if theres any permission issue on the storage group level 2. Besides the error info, please also check error info in the task report during Move-Mailbox task and the application log on the problematic server, see if theres any related event Note: The report can be opened automatically after the mailbox move is complete. Also, this report is in XML format and is saved in the X:\Documents and Settings\Profile\My Documents\Exchange Task Wizard Logs folder Resources: Using ExMerge to recover a Single Mailbox or Mailbox Item How to configure the administrator account to use Exmerge 2003 in Exchange 2003 Event ID 9562 is Logged When You Try to Move a Mailbox

Glad you solved the problem To remove the folders is a simple step, normally we just need to do it via outlook or tool (MFCMAPI). However, these methods didnt work in this case, thats why we try to move the mailbox, which can fix the logical corruption in a mailbox, yet, and this method didnt work either. I have checked the error info above, and the most possible cause is the item corruption in the problematic mailbox, thats the reason I gave you the methods in my last post, which are the most possible resolution for this issue
