Exchange 2007 automatically creates a new Routing Group and Administrative Group and Creates a Routing Group connector at install time. Mail between Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007 should be automatically activated. If you can receive mail from the internet on Exchange 2003 then you should be able to receive the mails from internet via the Exchange 2003 Server If you don't see any mails arriving I suggest that you check your mail queues on both Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007 Deli

Actually, the RG connector is not created by default. You have to use the PS cmdlet new-routinggroupconnector http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998574.aspx

Actually it the first RG Connector is created automatically! The first routing group connector between Exchange2007 and Exchange2003or Exchange2000is created and configured during installation of the first Hub Transport Server role in an existing Exchangeorganization. Perform this procedure if you have planned your routing topology and decided to create additional connectors between Exchangeversions. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997292.aspx Deli

Thanks for all replie. But I think I did a mistake at the time of exchange 2007 setup , I did not select that option which create first routing group between ex2007 and ex2007. Can I now install that routng group connector separately. But I want to send /recieve all mail flow through ex2007 , while as I mentioned I am able to send mail from ex2007 but not able to recieve mail from same. I have configured SMTP connector for sending mail (Send connectors). Is there any individual setting to recieve mails on same as my pop service is running fine. Thanks Sunil

Use Get-RoutingGroupConnector to verify https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996924.aspx If you don't have any create a new one New-RoutingGroupConnector https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998574.aspx Important: You must have one for Each routing group so from Ex2003 to Ex2007 and from Ex2007 to Ex2003 You cannot use a send connector to receive mails, you need a receive connector for that Deli

hello Deli Thanks for considering my problem. I had created a send connector on ex2007 yesterday to check the mail from ex2007 , but now I am unable to send mail from ex2003 while I can recieve mail on the same. I deleted that SMTP connector on ex 2007 for reverting changes but it doesn't work. I ran smtpdiag on my ex2003 it shows some errors .(I am using Default SMTP virtual server to send the mail). You have clearly connection problems to the outside world. That is not an Exchange problem, check your firewall settings Exchange needs access to internet on port 25 But how did you configure the RoutingGroup connectors? Did you create them or did you simply create smtp send connectors? Deli

Hi Deli, Thanks for reply. No, I did not create any Routing group between bot h exhange 2003 - 2007, Actually I just create a SMTP send connector in ex-2007 and my mail flow from ex-2003 was stopped. After doing lots of R & D i got the result, I stopped Transport Hub service in Ex-2007 and mail flow in Ex-2003 worked. But now my issue is that , I want to move my all mailboxes to Ex-2007 so that I can remove Ex-2003 from my organization after successlly migration , but I am not able to understand how to configure Recieve connectors in Ex-2007. As when I configure SMTP send connector , my mail flow from Ex-2007 worked. Right now my Ex-2007 is down as no mailboxes is there. Please guide me what to do first. Regards Sunil Bhatt

You need a Routing Group connector between Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007 Stopping the HUB transport service is not going to work! Also remove the SMTP connectors between exchange 2003 and exchange 2007 Make sure that mailfow between exchange 2003 and 2007 works fine! You might read the documentation again as you are not doing what you need to do http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124350.aspx Deli
