Can't move user from 2007 to Exchange 2010 server
Doing a local move request (which I have done many times successfully, BTW), but it fails with insufficient rights on opening the new mailbox. I have two accounts with all of the Exchange management rights, and each account was granted Full Access Permission via the Exchange 2007 EMC, which succeeded. I have tried all of the following without success: - Used the 2010 EMC on my desktop with my administrative user account. - Right-clicked the EMC on my desktop to run-as the other administrative account (Enterprise Admin account + all Exchange Mgmt. rights). - Logged onto the server with the Enterprise admin and tried the move. - On the server EMC, tried running with my admin account, also failed to move the mailbox. Error message (same one every time): Summary: 1 item(s). 0 succeeded, 1 failed. Elapsed time: 00:00:01 User_Display_Name Failed Error: Active Directory operation failed on FQDN of DC. This error is not retriable. Additional information: Insufficient access rights to perform the operation. Hi there, A few questions. 1. Is it _just_ this user - meaning can users that reside on the current same database as this user be moved? (pointing to right issues on the user object rather than being database related). 2. Can you move the user between Exchange 2007 databases? Check the mailbox storage quotas, if they are “0”ed out, or over the size limit of the new database your trying to move the mailbox into, it will fail. if not that try giving you account "Manage Full Access Permission" ops sorry Nevermind. i didnt read your error message. Just used to all my failed moves because Sec "0" out the limits on someones mail account. Supreme Commander of the Asgard Fleet.

Haven't tried moving between databases on the Exchange 2007 server. It, so far, is just this one user. I moved another user from 2007 to 2010 and to the same database even on the Exchange 2010 server with no issues earlier today! Really odd problem, eh?SnoBoy

Solved! I went into ADU&C, opened the user, clicked on the Security tab, then clicked the Advanced button and then clicked the "Include inheritable permissions from this object's parent" then clicked OK. I was then able to move the user's account to Exchange 2010.SnoBoy
