I'm following the procedure as per this Microsoft article:

However at the New-PublicFolderMigrationRequest step (step 5 - migrate Exchange 2010 folders)  I'm getting the error at bottom.  Anybody know what could be causing this?  It certainly seems to be able to access ATLAS.  I've tried using atlas.es.tv, tried using just the name of the PF DB, nothing works.

Ron,

 On your old Exchange server do you have a mailbox database mounted?

If not create a new MB database let AD replicate then try the Public Folder migration again.

I have the same situation and I have public folder mounted on exchange 2010 . I didn't understand create new MB database "mailbox database" or public folder database?

He had to create a new Mailbox (MB) database.

After the user's migration I delete all the Mailboxdatabases... I create a new one just for the Public Folder migration and It works!

Just to clarify the mailbox needs to be created on the legacy server. I ran into the same issue. As soon as I created the mailbox database on the legacy server I was able to create the migration batch for public folders. Very strange. PS was going to dig more.
