Can't install exchange server 2007 on child domain in a forest
I have created two windows servers on vmware workstation. I have configured one as parent domain and other as child domain.
Here how my forest topology is.
First server name : Windowsserver
Installed DNS, Activedirectory. DNS server (ram.com)
prepared switches /PrepareSchema /PrepareAD /PrepareAllDomains
Second server name: exchangeserver
Added to the above domain name (ram.com)
logged in with an account which have permissions - enterprise admins, schema
admins,domain admins.
installed .net 2.0,IIS,powershell
tried to install exchange server by an error occured stating that
"There is no global catalog in the domain in which you are trying to install exchange server".
But i have check the first server as global catalog from ntds setting.
can you tell me what might be the reason for this error and how can i resolve. Plzzzzzzzzzz help.

Hello You can run Setup /prepareAD to just update the schema and info in the parent domain then run setup in the child to install the server

I had run setup /PrepareAD several times on parent domain and then ran exchange server installation setup on child domain but it doesn't work and keep on posting an error message "Ther is no global catalog in the domain in which you are installing Exchange
server".
I am frustated with the problem. What might be the problem for this one.

Hello,
Child Domain controller is on the same Default Site or another ? if it is on another site check the Global catalog settings from NTDS properties.
Thanks

Yes Child Domain controller is on the same Default Site. I have done /PrepareSchema, /PrepareAD also, raised domain functional level to Windows server 2000 native.
