Can't delete public folder
Hello everybody! A month ago I have migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 and uninstall last Exchange 2003 from my organization. All tasks regarding Exchange 2003 removal was done from Microsoft manual. When I tried to remove public folder replicas from PF store on old Exchange 2003 I had a crash and some replicas, as I understand, was not removed. But I have deleted PF store and uninstall old Exchange 2003. Now I have a public folder “FAMU” in Outlook but I can not open it or see its properties, When trying to see properties I see the next message: “Can’t display folder properties. This folder can not be opened because there is a configuration problem on the server.” Also can’t delete it. The message is next:“Unable to delete this folder. Right-click the folder, then click properties to check your permissions for the folder. See the folder owner or your administrator to change your permissions. This folder can not be opened because there is a configuration problem on the server.” In PF Management Console folder is not exist but when I try to create folder with the same name it shows me error. Summary: 1 item(s). 0 succeeded, 1 failed. Elapsed time: 00:00:00 FAMU Failed Error: Cannot create the object '\FAMU'. Please make sure that you specified all the required information correctly and that you have the necessary permissions to create it. MapiExceptionCollision: Unable to create folder. I can change permissions but can’t add replicas.I see the next error:"Could not find server in msExchOwningPFTreeBL." This folder was mail-enabled so I can send emails to this folder but can not see them. How can I remove it from everyone’s Outlook and recreate for normal work? Please help!!!

Error “0x80040604” indicates duplicate name. According to all the evidence, it seems that the “FAMU” still exist somehow The appreciate method is to re-introduce the exchange 2003 back, and add/remove the replica Can you remove the folder via PFDAVadmin? I guess it can’t, since the server believe the replica still on the legacy exchange server

Thanks for your answer! Also I would like to ask about compatibility. Is there any special procedure for installing Exchange 2003 back or I can just make a default install to virtual machine? Is this PC must have the same name as old Exchange 2003 and will my email system work fine after installing new Exchange 2003? :))What is next after installing? Create a PF store and add replica to it?Also I did not find how to delete public folder through PFDAVadmin. Please help and I will try to delete it.

My mistake, as you have clean removed the exchange 2003 from organization, you can’t add the earlier version of exchange back to a pure exchange 2007-only organization Please provide the current exchange topology Please run the cmdlet below to check output of FAMU folder Get-PublicFolder –Identity \FAMU | Fl Error: “Could not find server in msExchOwningPFTreeBL” Do you try to add the exchange 2007 server into the replica list of FAMU folder? What shows in the “Replicas” tab of PFDavAdmin tool?Is there any error event in the application log on the exchange server during the failed attemption of folder removal before? Please try to use MFCMAPI, see if you can use it to remove the orphaned folder

I have two AD sites and in every site I have Exchange 2007. Two servers in organization. After executing this cmdlet I see next message:Get-PublicFolder : There is no existing PublicFolder that matches the following Identity: '\FAMU'. Please make sure that you specified the correct PublicFolder Identity and that you have the necessary permissions to view PublicFolder. At line:1 char:17+ Get-PublicFolder <<<< -Identity \FAMU | FlI tried to add exchange 2007 replica in PFDAVadmin to this folder but had this error:Could not find server in msExchOwningPFTreeBLI can't see this folder in any place except PFDAVadmin. Now I will try to make out how MFCMAPI works and inform about results. Thanks!
