Hello, i get the following error message: Original:"Die Version des Active Directory-Schemas der Quellstruktur ist nicht kompatibel mit der Version von Active Directory auf diesem Computer." Translation: The version of the AD Schema of the Sourcestructur is not compatible with the version of AD on this computer. Setup: One DC mit Exchange 2007 on it. I try to get a second DC up and running. The "new" machine has more RAM and HDD space that why i want to switch the machines. Anyone with a good idea? Dark Fury

Is your new DC (the one you want to make a DC) running Windows 2003 SP1?

Yes it running Windows Standard Server 2003 SP1 R2. My guess it that it has samething to do with the change to the AD schema that is done by the installation of E12. But i don't know how to work around it.

What's the procedure you are following to install your new domain controller? Are you following the steps in http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/library/4aae5014-fbce-42dc-b5f7-e1dde3072f381033.mspx?mfr=true? At what point are you getting the error you mention? /Ricardo

Ok i just found my error. I forgot to run adprep. You shouldn't do shuch thing late in the night. Problem was that the first DC is Windows Server 2003 SP1 and the new is Windows Server 2003 R2 SP1. So it wasn't an Exchange problem. Thanks for trying to help Dark Fury
