Calendaring agent failed with error 0x8000fff (EXCDO)
I've been getting a ton of event id 8208 every few minutes on a Exchange 2007 box. There is also a DCOM event ID 10016 in the system log that seems to be related to the EXCDO error. Anyone knows how to fix this? See below for the exact description of the error.Event Type:ErrorEvent Source:EXCDOEvent Category:General Event ID:8206Date:11/20/2009Time:11:29:05 AMUser:N/AComputer:MAIL2Description:Calendaring agent failed with error code 0x8000ffff while saving appointment. Hi, First please check the settings via following steps. 1. Click Start, click Run, type dcomcnfg in the Open box, and then click OK. If a Windows Security Alert message prompts you to keep blocking the Microsoft Management Console program, click to unblock the program. In Component Services, double-click Component Services, double-click Computers, double-click My Computer, and then click DCOM Config. In the details pane, locate the program by using the friendly name.2. Navigate to Component Service->Computer->My computer ->dcom config 3. Find {9DA0E106-86CE-11D1-8699-00C04FB98036}. 4. Right-click the program, and then click Properties. 5. Click the Security tab. 6. In the Launch and Activation Permissions area, click Customize, and then click Edit. 7. Click Add, type the user's account name, and then click OK. 8. While the user is selected, click to select the Allow check boxes for the following items: Local Launch Remote Launch Local Activation Remote Activation Click OK two times. Quit Registry Editor. To grant the correct permissions to the Network Service account, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, click Run, type dcomcnfg in the Open box, and then click OK. 2. In Component Services, double-click Component Services, and then double-click Computers. 3. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties. 4. Click the COM Security tab. 5. In the Launch and Activation Permissions area, click Edit Default. 6. Click Add, type Network Service, and then click OK. 7. Hi Xiu,It seems to have fixed the issue. All I did was to make sure Network Service has all the launch and activation rights enabled for component {9DA0E106-86CE-11D1-8699-00C04FB98036}. However, I did have to restart Exchange IS.I'll keep an eye on the server for the next couple of days. If the error comes back, I'll post it here. Thanks,Wil

I am having the same problem on a exchange 2007 server. When I go to add the user account, I am not sure what account to add? Is it the exchange service account? Right now there are no users defined in this area. Thanks
