Calendar search not working for a specific user - Exchange/Outlook 2013

We have a user on Exchange 2013 that is unable to quick search or advance search his calendar but can search any other shared calendars fine.  If you try to access his calendar with full access you can bring it up but as soon as you hit enter on the quick search and advanced search nothing happens.  Every now and then it will switch to the white search screen where results usually populate but nothing populates except for this error - "Cannot display the folder. An error occurred while creating the view list".  We have tested accessing his calendar from 5 other computers under his login and 4 other logins that we have shared his calendar with and in every scenario we can search on all calendars except for his.  When we did a mailboxrepairrequest everything comes back ok.  There are no filters enabled on the search either.

It appears to be something with this users Exchange account since it happens on other computers under different user profiles when accessing the same users calendar.  We have ran troubleshooting logging in Outlook and there doesn't seem to be anything specific in the logs when trying to search.  Its almost like you can type into the calendar quick search and the enter button doesn't work when trying to submit the search request.

Has anyone seen this issue?  Any suggestions on what the issue might be on the server side or anything tests, commands to try and narrow down what the issue with this users mailbox might be?

Hi Duval Dollar,

According to your description, I know that there is one user's calendar cannot be quick or advance searched.

When did a mailboxrepairrequest, everthing works.

Based on my knowledge, the mailboxrepairrequest can fix mailbox corruptions.

Thanks

I did try a mailboxrepairrequest and this users mailbox reported as everything being ok. After more troubleshooting the calendar advanced find does work as long as you do not try to use the instant search. If you try to use the calendar instant search nothing happens and if you try to use the calendar advanced find displays the error in the original post. If you change your view to mail or tasks and go back to calendar you can use the calendar advanced find ok as long as you don't try to use the calendar instant search. It's like it resets something when switching the views. It's odd since it's only happening with this users mailbox on every computer we tested. We did run the calcheck tool and it did identify a number of problem items so we are having the person recreate those meetings to see if it fixes the calendar instant search. If it doesn't I'm not sure what else to try. Both search features do work with no problems in all other views within Outlook 2013, just the calendar is the issue.

Hi

As per the information and details provided by you, to solve this problem, please follow these steps: -

  1. Run the sane version of Outlook on all of your computers.
  2. Only one person should process meeting requests.
  3. Manage your calendar exclusively from Outlook or OWA.
  4. Make sure your mobile device has the latest OS/Ios version.
  5. To change an entire series of meetings, cancel the original meeting and create a new one.
  6. A corrupt meeting will remain that way until you delete it.
  7. When scheduling a recurring meeting.

I hope this information will be helpful for you.

Thanks and regards

The fix was to run outlook /cleanviews. We also used the Microsoft Office Configuration Analyzer tool 1.2 to make sure all errors were fixed but that didn't seem to help until we ran the outlook /cleanviews.
