Calendar file type query
Hi AllI had a question on Calendar functionality I was hoping someone could help me with.Let's say there is UserA and UserB in the same Exchange org. They are both running Outlook 2007 and on Exchange 2007 mailboxes. When UserA sends a Calendar invite to UserB, what's the actual file that gets sent over for UserB to accept it? Is it an email, or some proprietary file type used by Exchange only? In which case, what happens if someone from a company that uses Exchange sends a Calendar invite to someone from a company that uses, say, Lotus Notes? Also, is there any difference in the actual file when using Exchange 2003?

HiSo if UserA sends a Calendar invite to UserB, they are effectively sending them an ICS file? Is that an ICS file in an email, or just an ICS file? Also, does the behaviour of this ICS file change depending on the mail platform (i.e. Exchange 2003/2007)? I know there are some differences in Exchange 2007 with the way Calendar functionality is handled. Finally, do other mail platforms that are non-MS use ICS files as well? Thanks

As far as my understanding , it is just the extension of the file. Not sure abou tthe other Platforms (lotus or send mails.)Raj
