Calendar Meeting Notes Formatting Issues

A couple of our users are reporting that once they confirm attendance to a meeting request the notes in the request are added to their calendar in rich text format. There are no formattiing options and graphs and some tables appear distorted. I researched online and I was led to believe that this was the default setting and could not be changed.

However yesterday numerous people received and accepted a meeting request. When they looked in their calendar the notes for the meeting were all formatted and the text was in the Arial font. Is there a way to set this so that everyone is able to accept meetings and keep the formatting of the original notes?

I believe you try sending standard Outlook calendar meeting request. Does only specific users face the issue? Verify at your end or problematic user end, whether they have any Outlook add-in or macros letting them in this scenario. You can request them to try running Outlook switches like, Outlook.exe /safe, Outlook.exe /sniff. Try these switches with the test appointments or at test environment.

Hi Deva,

Thanks for your response.  This is affecting multiple users and is an intermittent fault.  I have removed outlook profiles, changed machines but still the issue persists.  Can you confirm that by default the meeting requests once accepted should be added to the calendar in the original formated form? This is because I have read online that formatting gets stripped out when added to the calendar but our users advise that sometimes the formatting is kept.

If formatting can be kept can you please let me know what options should be set in both the recepients and the senders Outlook?

Thanks again,

Phillip

Has there been any follow-up from MS?
