Calendar Attendant Requests Failed
Hello, I have set the performance counter "MSExchange Calendar Attendant\Requests". According to the recommended value, it should remain '0" all time. But on my servers it beyond the threshold value. I Google it for the solution and found some where that it could be due to any calendar related issue. In further troubleshooting I have fetch out the details for exchange mailbox via powershell comandlet "get-mailboxcalendarsettings" and found around 100 user have "NONE" value in the attribute "AutomateProcessing". Is this could be the reason of failing Calendar Attendant? If yes what could be the reason of value "NONE" in the "AutomateProcessing" attribute. Also what could be the possible solution to resolve it? Will move mailbox help or need to set "AutoUpdate" value in "AutomateProcessing" by command shell. P.S. We are running Exchange 2007 SP3 with Rollup 4 in our environment. Thanks in advance for your suggestion/help. Vikas Shrestha

The AutomateProcessing setting has 3 values: 0 None, 1 AutoUpdate, and 2 AutoAccept. The AutomateProcessing parameter enables or disables calendar processing on the mailbox. This parameter takes the following values: None If this parameter is set to None, both the resource booking attendant and the Calendar Attendant are disabled on the mailbox. AutoUpdate If this parameter is set to AutoUpdate, only the Calendar Attendant processes meeting requests and responses. This is the recommended setting. AutoAccept If this parameter is set to AutoAccept, both the Calendar Attendant and resource booking attendant are enabled on the mailbox. This means that the Calendar Attendant updates the calendar, and then the resource booking assistant accepts the meeting based upon the policies. The default setting is AutoUpdate. More info :- If at any time a users calendar has a value set to 2 for AutoAccept, e- mail messages delivered to that user are automatically moved to the deleted items folder. Only resource mailboxes should ever have this value set to 2 or AutoAccept. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/959960 Thanks

Hi Vikas, If you set "AutomateProcessing" value to "AutoUpdate" the Calendar Attendant will process meeting requests which will sit in the calendar of the room in a "tentative state" waiting a delegate approval. You can know detail from this document: How to Create and configure a meeting room mailbox with Exchange Server 2007 http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2009/02/26/3407028.aspx Thanks, EvanEvan Liu TechNet Community Support
