Cached Exchange Mode - remote user issue
Hello I am trying to deal with a problem for a laptop user who uses cached exchange mode from home whereby they connect to our companies network over VPN (which is not an issue). The issue is that when outlook is launched, it will display the local copy of the mailbox immediately, but then it is a number of minutes before it is available to use because it is checking for updates. Even if there is only a few small e-mails which are updated, it still takes a number of minutes to complete. I can confirm their connection speed to the companies network is good as they use other resources on our network which has no issue with speed. Is there anything I can do to find out why Outlook takes so long to perform an initial synchronisation? Many thanks Mick

Does the user have a lot of calendar and/or task items set to remind?

Hi Am not sure, I will check this with the user. I am surmising that if this is the case then it will have a direct impact on the synchronisation??
