CU8 Install fails.

I just spent the morning trying to get our Exchange server back to a working state.

I attempted to do a CU8 install (I'm currently on CU3).  I followed the instructions by prepping the Schema and the AD.  Both completed successfully.  No replication issues.

I ran setup.exe as an Administrator on our Exchange server.  It stopped at 90% of checking prerequisites.  It then threw up the error (please see attached screenshots), and died.

It's now working again, but I need to get this CU installed.  ANyone have any insights at to what caused this?

I had that issue too: hangs at 90% during setup.  Check the logs: C:\ExchangeSetupLogs\ExchangeSetup.log

Look at the log tail for something like.  "Will wait 25000 milliseconds for the service WMSVC to reach status running."

This means WMSVC is failing to start, probably because it does not have a certificate assigned.  Go into IIS Management Service and make sure WMSVC has a certificate, then start the service in the IIS console.  If it starts, then you're good to go with retrying the Exchange install, and Setup should continue on now.
