Went from SP1 -> CU7 and now XP users are getting the same error they had with CU3. Anyone else having the issue?

Hi,

Currently, there is no official article about this issue for Exchange 2013 CU7.

About this problem, I recommend you open Outlook in safe mode for these affected users to check result.

And please check if there is any Group Policy related to this issue.

Yep same here. We are only a month or two away from completing our migration from XP to W8.1 but I still need to support XP until then. I've resorted to installing an additional mailbox server running CU6 and migrated all our public folder mailboxes to that on a new db and the xp clients are happy again for now

Exact same problem here.  Would appreciate a hotfix or a workaround.

Windows XP is out of support, so I doubt you will see anything official from Microsoft, nor was it tested with CU7.

I would rather upgrade client as XP is now totally out of support.

We'd like to listen to Microsoft's explanation regarding what was broken, how it was broken, and why it will not be fixed. May be the problem is on server side? Is it occasional or purposive?

Exchange 2013 release is well-known for poor update and documentation quality and unreliable support, nothing new hap

We had the same issue after upgrade from CU6 to CU7.

We opened a case on microsoft support, their answer : there is no hotfix at this time. Open a case again when hotfix will be available.

What a amazing answer ...

It reminds me NT4 with his service pack, some were better than other.

We have an issue with about 100 XP PCs with Outlook 2010 on Shared Mailboxes.

About 10 users working on same Shared Mailbox but Sync is not working properly (have to run Send/Receive manually) and once mails are marked as read, they are not marked on other Outlooks.

In general Shared Mailbox is working.

Not a solution after few days of research and tests.

One of the tests that didn't work for us is:

Switch from Cached Mode to Online Mode for Shared Mailboxes. Slowed down the overall loading of the mail folders.

Please share your experience or suggestions.

Thank you!

Well, I found a solution, but I don't like it...

If you Install additional MBX server with CU6 or below, and move PublicFolder Mailboxes on new server, the problem will be solved.

Franck, probably it is good chance to open the case once again:

Tony Redmond:

"Update: My contacts in Microsoft tell me that they can reproduce the problem and they are investigating. It would be helpful if someone who experiences the issue could report it formally to Microsoft and raise a support case. Just to make sure that the right paperwork is done"

Wouldn't you need a CU6 CAS server? It seems like the issue is getting Win XP clients connected to the public folders and that goes through the CAS server.

NOT fixed in CU9. But the most curious thing that Windows Server 2003 is not affected by this issue.
