CCR in an E2007/E2003 Environment
Hi all, this one is for any Echange Admins who deployedCCRin an Exchange 2007/Exchange 2003 Environment. Quick facts: 1.I have 200 users on an E2003 box, they're avid Public Folder users. PFs are currently homed on this oneE2003box, no other mailbox and no REPL. 2. All clients are 90% Outlook 2002 (XP). E2003 Free/busy info is in Pub Folders, as is a lot of other user docs/info.3.Forest/Domain Schema is done, had an E2K7 SP1 lab on a test VLAN / AD for a month. I feel aboutready introduce E2007 SP1 into the environment, but.... 4. To get around CCR's inability to REPL Public Folders: I'm going to basically do a single non-clustered Mailbox server to serve until my last E2003 user is migrated. Then I want to de-commision E2003 box and introduce CCR into the environment (in the form of a 2 new Clustered MNS boxes, and making the HT server a File-Share Witness) Burning Quesiton:Can I easily introduce a CCR mailbox cluster AFTER I've got my users and PFs onto a Exchange 2007 mailbox server and cut off PF replication w/ E2003?? I realize I'll have to build a separate fresh setup forCCR, that's no prob. My concern is: can I turn off Public Folder REPL from E2003 once I migrated the last E2003 user, basically HOME the folders on the E2007 mailbox server....then turn-around and migrate those mailboxes & Public Folders over to the new CCR mailbox cluster later on? Does the above make sense for a parrallel E2003 migration? I can't forklift these users so I want a win/win that let's me (eventually) leverage CCR while keeping Public Folder & Free/busy data available (remember users areOutlook 2002, which can't use the E2007 Availability Service for free/busy info). Thanks in advance anyone who has been here/done that, or can advise me! J.WestDallas, TX CCNA/MCSE/MCTS: Exchange 2007 Config
