Have you looked at your send and receive connectors? Get-SendConnector and Get-ReceiveConnector. They each have their own message limits.Tim Harrington - Catapult Systems - http://HowDoUC.blogspot.com

Check all possibilities: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124345(EXCHG.80).aspx Managing Message Size Limits Can you post the exact NDR users get when the message bounces?

The default send and receive are set at 10MB. You need to increase the send connectors if you want to send over 10MB.

Tes the get-receiveconnector is above it states 100MB. The send connector is the same size. [PS] C:\Windows\System32>get-sendconnector | list AddressSpaces : {SMTP:*;1} HomeMTA : Microsoft MTA HomeMtaServerId : SJXBE01 Identity : SMTP outbound MaxMessageSize : 100MB Name : SMTP outbound Port : 25 SourceTransportServers : {SJXBE01} UseExternalDNSServersEnabled : False

Andy, that is the doc I have been using to try to figure this out. I have made all the settings according to this doc. Is there a way to know which limit it causing the message gt get the NDR. thanks. Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. Subject: The following recipient(s) cannot be reached: tim.meaney@atce.com on 10/3/2010 11:53 PM This message is larger than the current system limit or the recipient's mailbox is full. Create a shorter message body or remove attachments and try sending it again. <sfdc-fe-02.bluemeaney.com #5.2.3>

Ok, so which server receives mail from the internet? If you telnet to it on port 25 from sfdc-fe-02.bluemeaney.com , and issue an EHLO command, what does it show for SIZE?

atce.com appears to use Postini for inbound messaging. Since the NDR is being rejected on the sending server it would appear to be receiving this NDR from the receiving server, which in this case would be a Postini managed server. Have you looked at the message settings and logs there?

relay03.bluemeaney.com is an Exchange Server or authenticates to the ussjcxhub1001.alfatech.net server yes? To see the SIZE command return the allowed message size you need to telnet from a server that submits messages to Exchange anonymously.

Based on a quick pass of their Mx records, it looks like they use Postini... so the NDR is being served up from there unless I'm missing something.
