PowerView still not working after installing the hotfix KB2837666. I get the same error after installing the hotfix.

Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.

I tried almost everything.

What can I do?

First, please check your Region setting for your system and see if it is set to a region that uses a comma for the decimal mark? If it is, please change it to a region that uses a period for the decimal mark instead of a comma.

Then you can Renaming the MSForms.exd in the following locations solved the problem.

• C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Temp\Word8.0
• C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Temp\Excel8.0

New MSForms.exd files were automatically created when restarting the applications.

Or you could try to uninstall KB2837666 Hotfix and check if it works for you.
