Does it happens to all External Meeting request? or just with one domain? it would not be a bad idea to install ex2007 sp2 and test Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|

It happens with all domains. If I click accept/deny and choose the option to "Edit the response before sending" (I can actually put a response in it and send or just leave my response blank and send), it is received normally by the meeting organizer. How long has SP2 been available?

Hi Steve, Whether the GFI MailEssentials were used in your environment? Based on my research, the Disclaimer added by GFI MailEssentials may corrupt the meeting message when sending to external recipient. If, the GFI MailEssentials are not used, please get Pipeline Tracing for the meeting accept messages to check whether any Transport Agent modify the messages: Using Pipeline Tracing to Diagnose Transport Agent Problems http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125198.aspx You can also run Get-TransportPipeline |fl Event, TransportAgents to check whether any third-party agents are registered on the Exchange server. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mike Shen TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I do have GFI MailEssentials on the Exchange server as well as MailSecurity on another gateway box. So it looks like all signs might point toward GFI?

Hi Steve, Please let me know whether GFI Mail Essentials and Mail Security installed is version 12, build 20080326 or lower. If yes, you need to contact GFI for a patch. This patch implements an update for an issue whereby Outlook appointment and meeting requests sent to a remote domain would be corrupted at the receiving end when a disclaimer was added by GFI MailEssentials. Regarding how to apply the patch, you need to contact GFI Mail Essentials support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mike Shen TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ok....so after searching down deep on GFI's site I found the following article. I plan on implementing this tomorrow morning and will let you know the results.Article ID: KBID003560 Issue Encountered: A user accepts a calendar invite from an external sender, by selecting "Send the response now" within Microsoft Outlook. The meeting organizer receives a blank email as a response More Information: This issue occurs when GFI MailEssentials is installed on Microsoft Exchange 2007. GFI MailEssentials adds a disclaimer to outbound Microsoft Outlook appointment and meeting requests. The disclaimer modifies the notification in such a way that makes it unreadable in Microsoft Outlook. Solution: The following procedure explains how to disable GFI MailEssentials from adding disclaimers on responses to Microsoft Outlook appointment and meeting requests: Open the following file using a text editor such as notepad:<GFI\MailEssentials\Data\product.config> Add the following line as the last key on the line before the closing </appSettings> tag.<add key="DisableOLMeetingDisclaimer" value="1"/> Restart the Microsoft Exchange Transport Service from the Services console (a reboot of the server is what I plan to do).
