Big problem: Sent Emails Lost with no error message. How do I view message headers in SENT emails in Outlook 2010?

Hello,  I was just told by a corporate client that there are two emails I sent in the last two months that never made it to their server. My tech support asked me to send the header from the two messages that are listed in Outlook 2010 in my Sent lists... but the header info is blank ???  As I look, Many or most of my SENT messages have no header info.

This is creating a lack of credibility for my business , so please please help me resolve this?

The hosting company says the only way to track down the problem is to view the message headers. I've read some other threads on this site and can view a header in my inbox (file, view, properties), but when I try that with 'sent' emails it is blank.

Hosting company says either provide headers or use another email program ie not outlook to try and identify the problem

Questions:
1. Is it possible to view the headers in 'sent' emails and if so, how do I do that?

I looked in Sent,  at File, Properties but most are blank ?

2. Why am I not getting an error message if it doesn't send ?

Thanks so much to anyone for helping me try and resolve this issue.

Hello,

1. Is it possible to view the headers in 'sent' emails and if so, how do I do that?

- > This is expected, there is no header for sent item.

2. Why am I not getting an error message if it doesn't send ? - > Did you get any bounce back message?

In theory, Sent Items folder is used to store copies of sent mails. Since you can see the two emails in Sent Items folder, it means the messages were successfully sent to the server, but not the recipient. If you didn't receive bounce back messages from the recipients email server, it's highly likely that the problem lies with your email provider's server. I'd recommend you contact your mail provider for further assistance.

In addition, if possible, we may also have the corporate client check his Deleted Items folder and Junk folder to see if he can find your email.

In order to avoid this issue again, we can try using Delivery Receipt (New Email > Options > Request a Delivery Receipt) when sending an email. Delivery receipt confirming the message was delivered to the recipient's e-mail server.
