Best way to set up Outlook for a user that has 7 mailboxes
Hello Everyone! I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right forum, but here goes anyway. A user in my organization has 7 mailboxes that he uses on a daily basis (don't ask me why 7!) :) Currently, all 7 mailboxes are configured with POP/IMAP (Outlook connects to Exchange Server) and mail is delivered to one pst file which consolidates everything. The user wants to make full use of Exchange functionality (synced mailbox across all clients especially) but I do not know the best way to set this up. One option I have thought of is setting up an Outlook profile that opens 7 Exchange mailboxes (with 7 inbox folders, sent item folders, etc) but this is really messy for the user. Moreover, Outlook does not seem to have a 'consolidated' inbox and sent items folder, which might just be the answer to this problem. (I might be wrong here!) Any ideas from the community? Thanks in advance! Software used: Outlook 2010, Exchange 2007, Windows Vista

Yeah make him use 1 mailbox and create some rules to move email where he needs. What you are asking for I don't see a way to accomplish with 7 mailboxes. If he needs 7 email addresses then give him 7 (seems silly) on the Exchange server then create 7 rules to move his email to specific folders based on the "to" address.

What does your user mean by make full use of Exchange functionality on synced mailbox across all clients? Does he/she has not only 7 mailboxes but multiple different devices to access the email message? POP3 account is different from imap4, if the user want to access the email message of pop3 account, then use the option of "Leave a copy of messages on server". this option is only available for PoP3, OMAP4 works online. Hope it is useful. -FionaPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I am marking this as the answer because this is the approach I took. A bit messy at first, but in the end, everything worked out nicely. I want to thank everybody for taking time to answer this question. Your help is much appreciated! :)
