Best way to search archived email
On our email system a vendor set up an account that receives a copy of every email. Now I have have been tasked with searching the entire email archive for some key terms in the subject and body of messages sent to and from certain people. What is the best way to search this archive? I don't believe the way this is set up is the correct way to archive email either. I am currently opening the account on workstations and creating rules and applying the rules to the mailbox to filter out the needed information but this takes about 4 hours per term per person.

So you have journaling turned on (exchange 2003?)and you need to search the journal mailbox? Try opening it with outlook 2007 and sit and wait while outlook indexes it then run your search.

I would have to install Outlook 2007 on a machine, how long would it take to index 780,000 emails? If you had to guess. Thanks for the idea. I was hoping there would be a simpler way to search from the server itself.
