I have two domains, the old and the new - no trusts, no connections, but all of the users have the same account name (although different internal domain name) - the external domain name is the same. We're basically moving to a virgin network with an entire new forest. I've looked at scripts that can copy email from a remote 2003 exchange server/domain to the new Exch 2010 server, but I can't seem to make them connect/work.
