Best way to migrate from 2003 to 2010 in different domains?
I have two domains, the old and the new - no trusts, no connections, but all of the users have the same account name (although different internal domain name) - the external domain name is the same. We're basically moving to a virgin network with an entire new forest. I've looked at scripts that can copy email from a remote 2003 exchange server/domain to the new Exch 2010 server, but I can't seem to make them connect/work. I'm trying to issue a "New-MoveRequest", but I'm unable to understand the format - every time I try it complains as follows: New-MoveRequest -Identity cits@PUBLICDOMAIN.com -RemoteLegacy - TargetDatabase "Mailbox Database 0300191549" -RemoteGlobalCatalog NameOf2003Server -RemoteCredential $Cred -TargetDeliveryDomain PUBLICDOMAIN.COM The operation couldn't be performed because object 'cits@PUBLICDOMAIN.COM' couldn't be found on 'Local2010Exch.dom.local'. + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (0:Int32) [New-MoveRequest], ManagementObjectNotFoundException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : 103DF204,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.RecipientTasks.NewMoveRequest Any help is appreciated - thanks You can't trust your best friends, your five senses, only the little voice inside you that most civilians don't even hear -- Listen to that. Are you referring to cross forest moves? Do you have 2 Exch Orgs or one, seems like you have 2? See this e.g - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998597.aspxSukh
