Bandwidth usage problem
Hello all, I've been looking into weird bandwidth issues for the past couple weeks and haven't gotten very far. Our ISP said that we were maxing out our DSL connection (2.5down) at different times of the day causing virtually no internet access. I was logging bandwidth on our firewall and it recorded 96MB of SMTP traffic in a 10 minute period. I periodically check the exchange queues but didn't see anything larger than a 5MB queue. I was running AV/ AS/ IPS on the firewall but temporarily disabled it thinking maybe is was slowing down traffic, but it did not help. Is something malicious going on, or are we just maxing the DSL line? Is the ISP having bandwidth issues and just not telling me about it?? I've been working on getting cable installed, but because our building is on a private road, it has been tough. We also havea few VPN clients, but the firewall didn't record much of their traffic. Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated!! Tim
