Backup and restore solution for Exchange 2003
Hello World !I have a problem with my Exchange 2003 server. I manage 500 user's box (+600 Go of datas for 5 years). There are no local save on computer clients, but mail are stored on file servers. The messaging system is running fast and ok. My question is about saving:Before, I used ArcServe with Exchange backup Agent and the saving process was about 3 or 4 days. So, I tried NTBackup (native system and exchange backup) and the saving backup process is about 1 day. But, when I try to restore saves, it's not ok (many errors). So, I want to find a good solution of backup for exchange 2003 (backup, restore, archiving): I thnk to third party tools or MS DPM ...In the future, I want to migrate to another Exchange Messaging System like 2007, but it seem that there is a new Exchange 2010. When Exchange 2010 will be available ? Thanks for advance for your ideas / help - Regards - Have a nice day ! RHUM2

Hello,DPM is a great tool for backup/restore your Exchange, please check the following site for more information: http://www.microsoft.com/systemcenter/dataprotectionmanager/en/us/protect-exchange.aspx If you would like to use the third party solution, it's also OK. A related KB: Microsoft support policy for third-party products that modify or extract Exchange database contents http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/904845 We recommend you use DPM. For Windows NTBackup, if you need any help, you're also welcomed to write a new post for it. Exchange 2010 is released for few months, you can refer to the articles provided by Nageshk. Thanks, Elvis
