Autoresponder / Availability information: Autodiscover
Hi there,
I have a pretty fresh installation of a Small Business Server 2008 SP2 with Exchange 2007. My clients use Outlook 2010. I have the well known phenomen, that my Autoresponder cant be configured in Outlook and I cant see availability information (Autodiscover
fails I think).

I have created a DNS zone for my domain (domain.ch) and therein created all records for my server ip address (192.168.10.10) so I can use these external addresses (https://autodiscover.domain.ch/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml) internal too. When calling the
address in the Explorer, I get an empty XML, so I can actually load the page from the client! So I think its no certificate error, even when it says something about the certificate in the command above! Outlooks testing function returns "0x800C8203"
after calling the autodiscover xml.
Does anyone know a solution? The loads of information about this on the web didnt help a lot :(
Thanks

What do you mean by Autoresponder? Do you mean Autodiscover?
Check out the bindings on the web site and verify that you have a valid certificate installed. Check the authentication and SSL settings on the Autodiscover virtual server.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hello there,
I recommend that we first fix this InternalURL parameter of AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory, which is different from the ClientAccessServer's SCP URL defined. So, Outlook clients are receiving an autodiscover URL from SCP at AD which is not the correct URL,
different from the one defined at AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory InternalURL parameter.
To fix this, run the following command:
Get-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory -Server LSR01 | Set-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory -InternalUrl
https://autodiscover.domain.com/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml
(Don't forget to change above URL according to what is really configured on your CAS)
I think only by doing a recycle on Autodiscover's AppPool on IIS will be needed to make this change have effect (Go to IIS, open Application Pools, right click MSExchangeAutodiscoverAppPool and click "Recycle") or you can restart IIS with the following command
run at cmd prompt:
iisreset
Tell me if after all of this issue still happens.
Best Regards,
Sam
