I just inherited the exchange server\ active directory, and the exchange can send and receive email internally, yet it can only send email out. The exchange server does not receive any email from outside the domain.update Rev DNS Check: Reverse DNS FAILED! This is a problem.

I guess there is some issue with your MX record. In order to recv emails from internet the foreign domains needs to know the MX record and from there it gets the name and ip of your exchange servr in order to deliver emails to your users/mailboxes. Please visit below site and select CheckDNS.net Quick Check Utility Option http://www.checkdns.net/quickcheckdomainf.aspx Please type in your domain name and see the detailed log where it fails.
