Automatic Update Causes Disk Corruption
Last night automatic update ran (I'm running Windows XP Pro) and rebooted the system. When this ran I had my Eclipse development environment open (but everything saved). When I restarted Eclipse, I got a message "javaw.exe - Corrupt file" and it said I should run chkdsk. I did this and rebooted. I saw that it found a lot of problems, especially in my application java files. After restart, I restarted Eclipse and found that most of my source tree had disappeared (many hundreds of files!!). This is clearly very bad. No more automatic updates for me.
