Automap

Hi guys,

After assigning Full Access through GUI (Exchange 2010), automap of a second mailbox is not working on client machine. Mailbox shows in Nav Pane but when user tries to expand Outlook we get the pop-up:

"The set of folders cannot be opened. The attempt to log on to Microsoft Exchange has failed."

Works on other client machines for same user however.

Have reset Outlook nav pane and removed and again added the Full Access permissions to no avail.

Have resorted to deleting user's Outlook local Outlook profile as well as ost and creating anew but same issue. Interestingly adding a second account for the second mailbox works and allows access - but still have additional non-functioning automapped one alongside.

I've noticed on all clients that automapping through Full Access permissions resolved to the AD Display name on the Mailbox in the Nav Pane, whereas mailboxes that are both added through first run as well as additional accounts added in Outlook resolve to the e-mail address.

Any help appreciated.

You said it works on other client machines - so that is the same user logging in to those machines? Same version of Outlook?

I would suggest removing the permissions, then waiting 20 minutes or so for the replication within the domain. Then use Attribute Editor in ADUC (Win 2008 R2 or higher) to look for the msExchDelegateListLink entry and ensure it is clear. If it is not, double click and then choose clear (rather than deleting the entry). Again wait for that to replicate then put the Full Mailbox Permissions back in again.

Hi Erkenbr4nd,

Thank you for your question.

Did you try to use the other account on this PC to check if the issue persist?

By my understanding, the issue just occur this specific PC (if I misunderstand, please be free to let me know), if that, we could refer to the following link to perform a clean boot to check if the issue persist:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135

We could also disable firewall on PC to check if the issue persist.

How did auto-map work could be referred by the following link:

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh529943(v=exchg.141).aspx

If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.

Best Regard,

Jim
