Autodiscover always returns error with Exchange 2007
The following is the error XML returned on the response for an autodiscover request: <Error> <Status>1</Status> <Message>Active Directory currently not available</Message> <DebugData>UserMailbox</DebugData> </Error> Per the following article on technet: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd439376%28EXCHG.80%29.aspx And the linked Knowledgebase article: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=952152 Either setting the External URL in the Client Access server configuration, or installing SP1 rollup 4 should fix the issue. I have both set this property and installed SP3, and this problem persists.

<Error> <Status>1</Status> <Message>Active Directory currently not available</Message> <DebugData>UserMailbox</DebugData> </Error> This is pretty direct "AD no available". When/Where exactly are you seeing this? Are you internal or external? Any other users having issues? Can you log into OWA?Tim Harrington | MVP: Exchange | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010, MCITP: Server 2008, MCTS: OCS | Blog: http://HowDoUC.blogspot.com | Twitter: @twharrington

Direct, yes. Useful, no. I am seeing it when I send an autodiscover request. I am internal. I am the only user, it is a test server. However, the exchange server at my office also returns this same error on the response. Yes, I can log in to OWA.

Hi, Please install a outlook client in your test machine, then run the auto configuration test: a. Open Outlook, on the windows notification area, right click outlook icon and choose "Test E-mail AutoConfirguation" b. Uncheck the options "Use Guessmart" and "Secure Guessmart Authentication". Click test. c. In Log tab, please post the information here for further research. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I can post the full XML response in its entirety, but it does not contain any additional useful information.
