Autodiscover Problem

I have a mixed bag of PC's and Macs on our network. The PC's run Office 2013 Pro Plus. The Macs run Office for the Mac. We run Exchange 2013. We have a certificate registered to mail.mydomain.com. In DNS we have internal SRV record pointing to mail.mydomain.com. There is no external autodiscover record. There is also no internal A record for autodiscover.mydomain.com. The PC's running Outlook 2013 are ok, but some of the Macs running Outlook for the Mac are getting a redirect message that won't go away. How do we solve the autodiscover issue for the Mac Outlook clients? Thanks.

Will

That looks like a normal message to me.  Is the URL the expected one for Autodiscover?  If so, tell them to check the box and click Allow.

Hi,

According to your post, I know that the Outlook for Mac account experience an redirect message and failed configure profile.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.

If your companys DNS settings for Autodiscover is not set correctly, Autodiscover will reset your custom settings under Advanced Settings. Therefore, you will face this issue as your mentioned.
Autodiscover must be configured to direct internal mail clients to an internal server and external mail clients to an external server. Please add a record for Autodiscover.contoso.com in external DNS (or disable Autodiscover for the Exchange account in the mail client itself).
More details about How the Autodiscover service works with Outlook for Mac 2011, for your reference: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj984202%28v=office.14%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
