Auto reply
Hi All,Is there a way to create an auto responder at the server level? For instance, when a person leaves this ABC I want to have an auto response generated from the server (not MS Outlook) that says "Joan is no longer with company ABC.com but your email has been forwarded to the appropriate person who will handle your issue."

Seems that an Out of Office autoreply configured with the message you want and a server side rule to forward the messages would suffice. You could also delete Joan's mailbox and add her old email address to the email addresses of some other user or group. That way your wouldn't have to keep the old mailbox around indefinitely.-aseigler

Hi,Is the Exchange 2003 server? If it is, no rule could be created at server side. You can configure the OOF on the leaver staff, then give the full access to the other user. Then configure the associated mailboxes with leaver staff in other user's Outlook. After that, please disable the user account in ADUC for the lever staff.Through this, the leaver staff account will not be logged into the domain without affecting the other user view the new message for leaver staff.ThanksAllen

Hi,For the Exchange 2007, you can use the Tranport Rule to work around this issue. Condition: sent to leaver staff, Action: copy the message to addresses and send bounce message to sender with enhanced status code (input the message that reply). For the bounce mesasge and enhanced status code, you can customize based on your need.http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123506(EXCHG.80).aspxThanksAllen
