Auto create domain server stored Outlook archives for all users - before/after the fact of id creation.
Is there a way, in Exchange 2003 servicing Outlook XP, 2k3, 2k7 and 2010 clients, to auto-assign a server stored Outlook archive to each/all user(s) – either before or after the fact? Which would not overwrite or remove any archives already in the user's Local Settings? Much like a roaming domain profile and its relationship to the user’s local PC one. Actually, maybe it would be exactly like that. And which would have the same security settings as the domain profiles do. Exchange Server is rubnning on Server 2003 R2 SP2. All client machines are running XP Pro SP3. All versions of Outlook are full Office Standard installs and all up to date on patches.

A server-stored PST (aka pst on a network drive) is unsupported and not recommended. However you can do what you're asking via this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/836755 Understand a PST can only be open on one computer at a time. So you'll need to make sure Outlook closes on the old computer before the new one tries to mount the PST. You really want to steer people away from doing unsupported things.... and using unsupported software versions... Mike Crowley Check out My Blog!
